Elizabeth & Caleb | Richmond, Indiana Engagement Session

Ok, so when Elizabeth and Caleb booked me for their wedding, I got so incredibly excited. They were super excited and expressed how much they wanted to work together. We hopped on a call after we got all the booking squared away, and I just grinned the whole time. Talking to them was like talking with old friends. We hit it off immediately, and hearing about them and their wedding, the things they loved - it all made me so pumped to work with such dream clients.

We got their engagement session scheduled, and decided to meet halfway between where they live in Ohio and Indy, so we met in Caleb’s old stomping grounds of Richmond, Indiana. They loved the idea of Hayes Arboretum, so we started there with some gorgeous Indiana backdrop. Elizabeth and I geeked out with each other talking about our shared love of Girl of The Limberlost (if you don’t know it, you’re missing out!) And Caleb helped figure out my dumb bluetooth speaker so we could finally get the music they had picked out playing out loud.

We bumped around the gorgeous wooded backdrops, then finished the session at Roscoe’s Coffee and surrounding streets in the Depot District. (Fun fact I learned that night: Nitro Cold Brew coffee is apparently stronger than espresso, so that was super fun drinking it at 6pm! Haha!!) The sun was pretty perfect, and we stretched out their session a bit long because I literally lost track of time having so much fun with them.

Watching them interact: Elizabeth’s funny and engaging humor mixed with Caleb’s quiet and equally funny personality made for such an amazing session. Again, what an honor I had photographing a couple deciding to spend their lives together, and it makes me SO excited for their wedding next spring!

These two are gold, and I feel so lucky I get to work with them.

A Sunny Day Family Session | Indianapolis Family Photography

Helllllo! It’s been a bit since I’ve blogged, but I’m hoping to get back into it so I can share some lovely sessions I’ve worked on over the last few months.

This sweet family session was a beautiful one, and it was even more special since I had done newborn photos for baby S. when she was born a year ago. Gah! Talk about loving my job even more when I get to see clients grow and change and I get to document part of their continuing story.

We met at Flat Fork Creek Park and took photos around some lovely spots, and I just loved every minute. This family is gold, and I loved watching mama and dad interact with their baby girl.

Hayley & Zach | Newfields and Holliday Park Engagement Session

I first met Hayley and Zach at a bridal show earlier this year. It wasn’t hard to forget them initially since Zach is so tall and Hayley has the most gorgeous hair and smile, but after meeting them for coffee at Provider to talk about wedding photography, I quickly realized they were one of those couples who are just kind and authentic from the get-go. They make you feel seen when you are talking with them, they are thoughtful, and they are so genuine. When they decided to book me for their October wedding, I was overjoyed and so excited! I love working with people so much, and especially such kind and loving folks like Hayley and Zach.

For their engagement session, we met on a bright and slightly chilly spring day at Newfields, where the blooms were in full beauty and Indiana was showing off. I threw on music as always to help us all relax, and Zach, nervous at first, quickly warmed up and got comfortable getting photos taken, while sweet Hayley laughed and drew him into tight hugs and smiled up at him. Guys, this couple is amazing! We ended our session at Holliday Park, chasing some sunlight and talking about life, what they like to do for dates, and how beer is harder to drink than whiskey sometimes. :)

I’m so incredibly honored that I get to document their wedding this fall. I just know it’s going to be amazing because of these two!

Emilee & Jeff | Vision Loft Events | Downtown Indianapolis Wedding

Emilee and Jeff got married on a beautiful spring day back in April. They were one of the sweetest couples I got to meet with, and when they asked me to photograph their wedding, I was thrilled! They said their vows in the church they attend, surrounded by their family and friends. Then we headed downtown Indy to the beautiful Vision Loft Events for their photos and reception.

With one of the largest and coolest bridal parties I’ve ever shot - (26 amazing people!), I had a blast taking photos and watching their party celebrate them so well. Just before Emilee and Jeff were announced into their reception, we took a few photos on Mass Ave. and against the lovely backdrops all around their venue.

The party was a PARTY! Their friends and family danced and ate along with them, toasted and celebrated them, and it was obvious how much their guests meant to them, as they intentionally made time to visit with everyone. I was able to sneak them away for a few minutes to catch some golden hour shots of just the two of them, and they ended their night with a beautiful sparkler send-off.

Weddings are so incredibly special, and it’s amazing to watch two people surrounded by so much love and celebration on their big day. Congratulations, Emilee and Jeff!!

Rachel & Aaron | Winona Lake Engagement Session

I met Rachel through my husband’s brother and his wife a few times over the years, and when she and her fiancé, Aaron, reached out asking if I would be their wedding photographer, I was so excited! Rachel and Aaron are the absolute sweetest couple, and it’s obvious how deeply they care for one another. They are both musicians, and extremely talented folks. I felt so honored to get to spend the afternoon with them for their session.

When we were talking about where to shoot their engagement photos, they really wanted to have photos in Winona Lake, near where Aaron grew up. During college weekends, because Rachel’s house was a bit of a drive, they would spend time in Winona Lake, so this area became very special to them. And what’s not to love about this awesome lake town? We explored a few spots they loved, including some woods they love to hike, a tennis court as a nod to Rachel’s love of the sport, a concrete bridge, and a small pier out over the lake.

We lucked out with gorgeous weather, the tunes were going, and Rachel and Aaron were just amazing to work with. I love these types of sessions so much - basically getting to hangout with a cool couple for a few hours. We talked about funny stories from their childhoods, their wedding plans, and then Aaron’s mom and dad had us all over dinner afterwards, making the perfect end to a perfect session.

I’m so incredibly excited for their wedding coming up this summer!!! Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their session below.
