A few weeks ago, I got to spend a relaxed, sunny morning with the Zillich family, and take photos of their newest addition, baby Graham. Their home was so welcoming, warm, and peace-filled. I had run out of coffee that morning at my house, and didn’t have time to stop for any on the way, so when I walked in and Alan offered to make me some fresh ground and brewed coffee, I was a pretty happy gal. 🙂
Let me just say, newborns are so incredibly precious, and it makes my heart light up when I get to spend a couple hours with them. Graham was incredibly amazing, and cooperated with every shot and outfit change! I like to keep things simple when I shoot newborn sessions, and take in the everyday spots where families hangout with their little babes. I usually do a couple simple posed shots, but mostly I love to capture the family doing their thing in their home.
Graham has a big brother, Oliver, who was obviously proud to be the big boy and help take care of his little brother. Having two boys myself, I loved watching Oliver interact with Graham, knowing that they’ll be buds as they grow and start playing together. Colleen pulled out some big brother, little brother outfits for a few shots, and those were some cute little moments we captured!
I love watching families interact so much, and one of the reasons I love photography is seeing how love is expressed in so many ways. Families are especially beautiful, and getting a sneak peek into homes, traditions, routines, and spaces is so much fun for me. The Zillich family has a spirit of adventure and unconditional love, and I was so happy to get to see their space and capture a piece of their lives. It’s obvious that Graham will grow up being shown a love for travel and seeing the world, loving others, and savoring life.
Wishing this sweet family the best as they adjust to being a family of four. Enjoy some of the photos from their session below!
