The Stanley Family | Holcomb Gardens | Indianapolis Family Photography

I met Lori and Alex at one of my favorite spots to photograph in Indianapolis, Holcomb Gardens on the campus of Butler University here in town. There are so many lovely spots there along the canal and in the lovely gardens, and especially at sunset, it can be so perfect for photos.

They brought their sweet dogs get photos all together, and it was so incredible working with them. I don’t care if you have babies, fur babies, big families, small families, or just yourself, I love working with anyone to get them photos they’ll treasure.

We walked around to a few spots, enjoyed the evening, and maybe got bitten up a bit by the mosquitoes (thanks, Midwest summer), but it was a good time photographing and getting to know them. Lori is an RN and she and Alex own Books and Brews in Carmel, so if you love supporting local Indy area businesses like I do, then get yourself up there and grab drinks and food and hangout. More than ever, local businesses need our support! I’m planning on taking the boys and Landon up there soon.

I think these photos are a great example of how gorgeous Indiana can be during the summer. Sure, we have alllll the greens, but it’s so vibrant, so rich, and the Midwest is a beautiful place to live.
