Wedding shows can be a lot to take in for couples, and a lot to put in for vendors. As someone who loves to connect through conversation in a non-high-pressure environment, it can feel weird to try to talk to hundreds of people at once. But thankfully, I’ve learned to connect with the people at shows who seem to be looking for what I am offering, and one of the people like that was Anna. I met Anna at a wedding show last winter at Ritz Charles, in Carmel, Indiana, and I instantly felt drawn to her warmth and kind energy. She and her fiancé Dane were planning a fall backyard wedding, and everything about their day sounded amazing. She lit up talking about her day, about the plans, the people, and how she wanted to feel – I love it when couples tell me how they want to *feel* on their wedding day.
When I met them both for coffee, I saw how intentional they were and how excited they were to get married and it felt so exciting when they booked me for their wedding and engagement session. For their engagement session, we met at Holliday Park in Indianapolis, one of my favorite spots for shooting, and it was a gorgeous Indiana summer evening. They brought a special blanket that nodded to the music festival where they got engaged – Electric Forest . We walked around the park, and I got to hear more about them and about the things they loved. Relaxed engagement photos are some of my favorite things. I try to keep the session feeling laid back and comfortable so my couples can feel like they can be themselves, and that’s how I felt with these two.
Since I’m *so* ahead on blogging (jk) I actually am about to deliver their wedding gallery! So check out their engagement photos for now, and I’ll be so excited to share their wedding photos soon.
