Karly & Matt were so incredible to work with for their engagement session in mid-December. We met at their apartment downtown Indianapolis for some in-home cozy vibes first. Karly was pulling out fresh cookies and Matt was doing the dishes when I got there, they popped some champagne for mimosas, and I got to photograph them in their home together for a bit. I love it when couples choose in-home photos – I love how relaxed they are, how I get to peek a bit at what their dynamic is in their own space, and they make for some beautiful images.
After some cozy photos, they changed and we headed out to walk down Mass Ave and the Cultural Trail just steps from their building. We checked out the new Bottleworks Hotel, which if you haven’t been to yet definitely go – it’s an Art Deco dream there! We stopped at some spots along the way, then landed in Lockerbie Square where they often walk together. Finally we ended up at an old barn-style garage they stumbled across together one time, and it was such a perfect backdrop.
These two are kind, warm, caring, and so amazing. They were friends before they started dating, and I wonder if that’s why they seemed so comfortable and just at home with one another. I’m really excited to photograph their wedding this year!! Check out some of my favorite images from their session below!
