Michelle and Aaron reached out about doing an engagement session, and I loved talking through their vision for downtown Indianapolis engagement photos. They are both architects, and it was really important to them to incorporate beautiful building design and urban city spaces in their photos. We chose Thunderbird to start for drinks, as it’s a spot they love to spend time, and took photos around Fountain Square with their dog, Chanel. Michelle wore a killer leather jacket for some of their photos, something I always love to suggest for engagement session outfit ideas.
Next we headed to the Bottleworks area of Indy and the string lights were on as the sun was setting, which played so well with their outfits, including Michelle’s satin, shimmering dress. Bottleworks makes such a lovely backdrop for engagement photos!
We ran out of sunlight and these two were SO gracious to meet me a few days later to snag the rooftop sunset photos they really wanted. We met just a couple evenings after their original session and spend some time on a lovely rooftop area with some great downtown Indianapolis city skyline views. We had the space to ourselves and got some really lovely romantic and soft moments while the sun was setting.
I love it when couples want to try some fun new spots for engagement photos, incorporate meaningful locations and elements into their session, and most of all are flexible as things roll, traffic is not great, or the gate to the parking garage gets locked, haha! These two were amazing and I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from their engagement session in downtown Indianapolis below.
