Millie and Andrew had the most gorgeous summer wedding at Whippoorwill Hill in Bloomington, Indiana. July in Indiana can be pretty amazing, and even with the warm weather, this wedding was so stunning!
Details of sage and greens matched the rustic space
Whippoorwill Hill is a really lovely rustic barn setting, nestled in the hills of Bloomington. Millie and Andrew chose simple and elegant decor of sage green and other green shades to match the beautiful space. Buckets of baby’s breath lined the wide aisle for their ceremony, with beautiful wooden chairs lined up for guests.
Millie wore an off white layered wedding dress
Millie stunned in her layered wedding dress with intricate lace and beaded details, with embroidered patterns throughout. Her hair was done into a gorgeous boho braid, with a sparkly beaded hairpiece woven into the braid. Millie’s jeweled heels completed her look for the ceremony, then she changed into gorgeous dazzled boots for the reception. Her long veil complimented her wedding dress tulle layers, and was softly carried in the wind at times, creating such a stunning look.
They had a first look in a rustic barn
Millie and Andrew chose to have their first look in a rustic barn space on the property at Whippoorwill Hill. After their first look, they said their private vows to each other, handwritten in custom leather vow books. It was such a special and unique aspect for them to say their vows just the two of them.
Their ceremony took place in a pasture near the main barn
A simple wooden ceremony centerpiece was the location for their ceremony, and wooden chairs laid out in a wide half circle made such a beautiful setting. They were joined by their wedding party and guests who witnessed their vows and rings. As another unique and intentional piece to their ceremony, they chose to place their vow books and other mementos into a capsule box, to memorialize the day. I loved this unique piece of their ceremony and they were the first couple I’ve seen do this in lieu of a unity candle, etc. Such a lovely idea!
Wedding party photos took place near the venue
Whippoorwill Hill has so many beautiful locations for photos, and it was easy to choose a few spots for wedding party photos. We first shot outside of the gorgeous wooden barn doors, then made our way to a shady field overlooking the wide pastures in the distance. The bridesmaids wore sage green dresses, and the groomsmen wore gray pants with brown suspenders and sage green bow ties, perfect for a summer wedding in Indiana.
Dinner, Dancing, and Cake
A delicious dinner of tacos and nachos was the perfect meal for this wedding, and afterward guests enjoyed dances, speeches, cake cutting and a special shoe game the couple played together. The barn doors were open air on 3 sides, the twinkle lights were gorgeous, and everyone was having such a lovely time.
Sunset photos near a beautiful tree
Millie and Andrew chose a tree on a hill for their sunset photo location, and it was simply stunning to photograph. The light was coming through the tree so beautifully, and we spent some lovely time photographing them and giving them a chance to steal away for some alone time.
After sunset photos, they had a faux send-off sparkler photo moment with just their bridal party, and finished our coverage time with some slow dancing on the dance floor with their guests.
This wedding at Whippoorwill Hill in Bloomington, Indiana was so stunning and this couple was so incredible to work with.
