Markeya and Derrick met me for their elegant Indianapolis engagement session recently and I loved their session so much. Markeya had a beautiful vision for the session, which included drinks and dressy outfits, with an elegant feel.
We met at Wiseguy Lounge on Mass Ave to Start
After securing permission from the bar manager of Wiseguy Lounge, we met there to begin the session over drinks. Markeya creates cocktail content and enjoys a good bar/lounge vibe for drinks, so it was a perfect spot to start.
The amazing bartender made some espresso martinis, and Markeya brought some custom cocktail toppers for the drinks as well for this elegant Indianapolis engagement session.
Glam outfits and some cake
Markeya and Derrick dressed to the nines in an all black outfit for Derrick and a dazzled black halter neck gown for Markeya. After sharing some drinks, we got some really cute shots of the mini cake they brought to share. I love when couples bring such cute props to incorporate into their session!
How They Met
Markey and Derrick met in college, and they recently moved to Indianapolis to start their life together. Derrick proposed on the beach in Cabo in December and they are planning a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony for the spring in Goshen at Bread & Chocolate. I loved hearing how they met and seeing how comfortable they are with each other!
An Outfit Change and Photos at The Statehouse
After changing into a new, elegant black and white look, we made our way to the Indiana Statehouse for the second part of their photos. This is such a beautiful location for photos, and I love the natural light and elegant backdrop in the architecture.
Markeya stunned in a white mini dress and glam heels, and Derrick rocked a black suit and white button up. They looked so amazing for their elegant Indianapolis engagement session photos, and stood out so well against the stunning backdrops in the Statehouse.
In Her Own Words
I really loved what Markeya said about Derrick:
“Through our conversations, I could just feel it in my spirit that he was a genuine person. He told me he knew on our first date he was going to marry me. I rarely tell anyone this, but I had a rough past before him and was super hesitant to date anyone let alone be in a relationship. After our first date, we went to the park to walk around a bit and i remember crying my eyes out because I knew he was good person and I did not want to ruin something good for me. You would think he would have been scared off but it made us closer than ever.”
What a beautiful couple and I loved working with them for their elegant Indianapolis engagement session! I look forward to their intimate wedding this spring!
