There’s something extra special about a cozy winter newborn session, especially when it’s for my brother and sister-in-law’s sweet baby girl, Lety. Born in December, Lety is their third little one, and her name, which means “let there be joy,” couldn’t be more fitting. I had the honor of capturing these early moments with them in a relaxed, in-home newborn session—perfect for the chilly winter months.
For me, there’s no place like home when it comes to newborn sessions. It creates such a calm, intimate atmosphere. We kept things simple and cozy for this shoot, focusing on soft, natural light and the warmth of their home. From the soft blankets to the living room details, everything felt so welcoming. It really set the tone for a relaxed, beautiful session that felt just right for Lety’s first photos.
Little Lety is already so loved by her big sisters, and you could see the joy she brings to the family. Her name means “let there be joy,” and you can just feel it in the way her parents and siblings smile when they look at her. It’s those little moments—like Lety’s big sister gently kissing her head—that made the session so sweet and memorable. Even though it was a chilly December day, there was so much warmth and love in the room.
If you’re expecting and thinking about newborn photos, an in-home session is a great option. It’s cozy, comfortable, and it lets you capture those everyday moments in your own space. For me, this cozy winter newborn session with Lety was all about family, warmth, and the quiet beauty of those first few weeks with a newborn. The photos are simple, yet timeless, and they’ll be cherished for years to come.
If you’re planning your own newborn session, consider staying home. Whether it’s a winter shoot like this one or a spring session, home always feels like the best place to capture those genuine, heartwarming moments.
