Grace and Jimmy’s session was everything I love about summer evenings in South Bend. It was laid back, full of laughter, and filled with golden light. When they reached out about doing engagement photos at Notre Dame, they knew they wanted the beauty of campus without leaning too heavily on the “big iconic” spots. Instead, we explored the grounds in a subtle way, letting the natural charm of the university be the backdrop for their story.
Grace and Jimmy love taking walks together, so we built their engagement session around that simple joy. We wandered around campus as the sun dipped lower, stopping in quiet corners with soft greenery and glowing light. The evening had that perfect coolness that makes summer nights feel extra romantic—ideal for engagement photos at Notre Dame.
The best part of photographing these two was how effortless they were together. Their connection came through in every little glance and laugh. Instead of staging stiff poses, we leaned into movement with some images of them walking hand in hand, talking, and soaking in the evening. That balance of candid and classic made their engagement photos feel personal and timeless.
Of course, we had to finish with something special. Grace and Jimmy love sharing a pint of Guinness, so we ended their session at Rohr’s at the Morris Inn, right on campus. The two of them clinking glasses as the night set in was such a perfect way to wrap up as a little nod to their story and the things they love most.
