Since I’m forever catching up on blogging, I wanted to get this post out of photos I took of my brother, Jonah, who is Aye Cay. He’s a pretty talented musician, an even greater human, and if you’ve been lucky enough to listen to him perform or know him, then you know what I mean.
Last summer, on a family vacation to Loogootee, Indiana, I took a few headshots of Jonah with his instruments, and once again, the Midwest light at dusk proved to be pretty amazing. As with most of my sessions, I kept it laid back and relaxed as I photographed him in some headshot poses, and then moved into lifestyle headshot looks as he played his guitar and banjo. The dock along West Boggs Lake at the Airbnb our family rented, was the perfect setting for some really cool colors and looks for the photos.
Headshot photos don’t have to be stuffy, super commercial looking, or feel awkward. I want them to feel true to each client, regardless of their purpose for the photos. Jonah obviously has a chill vibe about him, so I wanted the photos I took to reflect that.
Check out some of my favorite photos below, and go check out his music and more about him at his website.
