Cortney and Dino’s wedding at Laurel Hall in Indianapolis was simply gorgeous. I felt so honored to be a part of their wedding day, and help document such a stunning celebration.
Classy and elegant described their decor and style
Cortney and Dino put a lot of thought into the style of their wedding. Choosing the stunning, classy venue of Laurel Hall set them up for a beautiful space and location. The turn of the century mansion with tan and limestone elements and architecture made a stunning backdrop. Black and white, greens, and loads of fresh florals made their wedding at Laurel Hall so pretty.
The Solarium made a lovely backdrop for photos indoors, with plenty of natural light and a gorgeous black and white marbled floor.
Cortney wore a plunging neck satin dress
Cortney’s whole wedding look was amazing. Starting the getting ready photos with satin pajamas, we got photos of her and her bridesmaids together. Then Cortney dressed, and her gown was simply amazing. A plunging, v-neck satin dress, with a lovely train was perfect on her. She had a custom long veil she wore below her lovely high bun hairstyle. She had her mother’s handwriting added to the bottom of the veil as a beautiful touch honoring her mom’s memory.
Cortney’s bridesmaids wore bronze satin dresses, with nude heels, further adding to the overall glam that was Cortney and her attendants. Satin fabrics are some of my favorite to photograph since they add so much dimension with how they reflect the light.
Dino looked sharp in a white tux jacket
Dino looking super sharp, wore a lovely white tux jacket with a black tie, and his groomsmen had black tuxes on. What a stylish bunch of guys! The photos look so dynamic in both color and black and white with the setting of their venue.
Their details included custom elements
I’m enjoying shooting details more as I continue to shoot weddings, and Cortney and Dino’s details were lovely. The custom rings, black and white wedding stationary, and floral elements made the details such a dream to photograph. I especially loved seeing the beautiful orchids in Cortney’s floral details.
The outdoor ceremony in a non-traditional set up
Using the mansion as the backdrop, guests were seated in a half circle facing Laurel Hall, and the wedding party stacked on either side of the sweeping staircase. Cortney and her dad walked into the ceremony from Laurel Hall, switching the typical aisle entrance with a view the guests could all witness well. Bouquets and sprays of flowers lined the ceremony site, and it was such a perfect location for their vows.
Guests lined a pathway to shower the couple in rose petals as they exited
After an exit, the couple circled back for a formal exit as guests lined a brick pathway. As they walked through, guests showered them with pink rose petals, and it was such a DREAM to photograph! I absolutely loved this unique aspect of their wedding!
A summer dinner party reception
Once couple photos and wedding party photos wrapped up, the wedding party joined guests for an outdoor reception on the terrace of the venue. Beautiful floral centerpieces and round tables made the space so beautiful as guests enjoyed a plated dinner and cool drinks. The toasts and cake cutting commenced, and it was so obvious how loved and celebrated this couple was.
Dancing in the Solarium at Laurel Hall
The party moved indoors for their formal dances, then the DJ broke out a rad playlist for the party to get even more fun. Guests and the couple partied the night away with dancing and drinks and a photobooth, and it was so much fun to photograph.
Cortney changed into a reception dress, and we got some really fun shots of the couple for sunset photos! I absolutely loved Cortney’s vision for her wedding at Laurel Hall. Helping her bring it to life through photos was such an honor.
Cortney and Dino: you two are so amazing and I LOVED working with you for your engagement and wedding photos! Happiest of newlywed life to you both and cheers to an amazing journey together!
