I recently met Dylan for his downtown South Bend senior session. Normally I don’t shoot a lot of senior sessions, but Dylan was wanting to get creative for his session and I was all about it. This session was so much fun and I loved taking what can feel like traditional photos and putting a modern twist on them.
We met in Downtown South Bend for his senior session
Downtown South Bend has some really incredible street views for photography. We met in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center and then walked to a few spots nearby. Dylan wore converse sneakers, a graphic tee, and graphic printed shorts. I loved that he chose such a chill look for his photos. I could instantly tell Dylan would be down for being a bit creative with his session, something I loved so much!
We found some cool alley spots for his first look
Within a short walking distance of Main street in downtown South Bend are some fabulous alley locations and street views. Dylan looked rad against backdrops of glass, cinderblock walls, and black brick for his first look. He styled his look with accessories of rings and necklaces, and we did a mix of posed and unposed images.
For Dylan’s second look we found a parking garage rooftop
I’m such a fan of parking garage rooftops for photos. I remember the first time I shot a session at a parking garage, and it was such a different look for the midwest. We have so much green here in Indiana, that it’s nice to use a neutral backdrop like a parking garage rooftop. Dylan changed into a vintage tee and bright yellow shorts for his second look. Paired with the stunning blue of the summer sky, Dylan looked so cool on the parking garage rooftop for his senior photos.
Not wanting Dylan’s photos to look too traditional, I played with composition and perspective and went a bit more modern with the poses for this set. I was so grateful for such a cool kid to work with!
Dylan: you were amazing to photograph. I loved your chill vibe and your willingness to get creative for your senior photos. All the good vibes to you as you start your last year of high school and head off for many adventures!
