I met Marina and Albert for part 1 of their Byway Brewing Engagement session in Hammond, Indiana. I was so excited to meet this couple. It was like we had known each other for awhile when I did! Marina and Albert were so easy to talk to and engage with, and their session was so much fun!
Byway Brewing Company was our first spot
Being that Marina and Albert love breweries, they suggested one of their favorite spots, with a family tie even! I immediately loved the space when we walked in. It made for a fun and relaxing atmosphere for their Byway Brewing Engagement Session. The owner met us and grabbed beer for us while we took breaks for snacks and sips in between photos.

We even were able to go into the awesome brewing room area. It was such a great backdrop for photos. Marina and Albert stood out so well, with jeans and flannel, and Marina rocking a green velvet top. Their chemistry was so perfect and comfortable as we photographed, and I loved hearing more about them.
In Marina’s Words
Marina happened to be asked by her friend to sub in for a game of softball one evening on her way home from work. Here are her own words:
“We met in May 2017 when Albert and my best friend played in a co-ed 16 inch softball league together. Randomly one day after I was done with work, my best friend asked me to sub for them because one of their players couldn’t make the game. We played a double header so we got to spend a few hours together then we all went out for drinks after and eventually started talking more each day. When I was first introduced to Albert he kindly said hi to me and joked about how I showed up to play in jeans. He made me laugh and it was super easy to joke with him. I fell in love with his smile and how it looks like his eyes are closed when he smiles or laughs. Also seeing his athleticism playing softball drew me even more to him! I remember just saying “He’s so fast & good” each time he batted.“
In Albert’s Words
Albert says: “Marina was filling in on our softball team. She seemed like a very nice and sweet person, especially since it was a cold and damp day and not many people would have wanted to be a sub and play that day. Marina only knew one person on the team so I tried to make her feel welcome by cracking jokes. She seemed very easy going and laughed at the jokes. Marina seemed like someone who didn’t take things too seriously and could not only take a joke, but dish them out. She made me laugh and what made me really interested in her was that she seemed like a very caring and genuine person who really cared and liked to help other people, especially people who were close to her. The cherry on the top was that she liked to play sports.”
