Julia and Josh’s wedding at Potawatomi Inn was a beautiful lakeside celebration. This summer wedding had so many beautiful moments, and I loved working with Julia and Josh so much!
Getting Ready at Julia’s family lake house
Julia got ready in the gorgeous space at her family’s lake house in the Lake James area of Angola, Indiana. This area is really beautiful, and Julia has spent so many childhood and adult summers at this place. Surrounded by her bridesmaids and parents, we got some beautiful shots in their home. Julia lost her sister, so there were some really intentional things that were part of her wedding day to honor her. It was an honor photographing these for Julia.
First look and photos at Potawatomi Inn
The Potawatomi Inn in Angola, Indiana is really stunning, and nestled along the shoreline of Lake James. With a beautiful courtyard, rolling hills, woods, and lovely stone and brick backdrops, this made for a gorgeous wedding venue.
Julia and Josh shared a first look in the courtyard of the Inn, private vows, and then we walked to a few spots for couple photos.
Wedding Party Photos
With terra cotta and navy touches, the wedding party looked amazing and showed up to support Julia and Josh on their wedding day. We got some great photos in and around the Inn.
A ceremony overlooking the lake
In a beautiful ceremony overlooking Lake James, Julia and Josh said their vows in front of their closest family and friends. There were so many beautiful moments.
A Pontoon Ride to the sandbar where they met
The area has really special meaning to this couple since they first met during a summer party on the sandbar, which could be seen from their ceremony site. In a nod to their first meet, the wedding party jumped on Julia’s family pontoon boat and took a ride around the lake and to the sandbar. I even jumped on with my camera and it was so much fun to photograph the newlyweds in such a special area.
Dinner and Dancing
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner with dancing following soon after. Julia and Josh shared special dances with their parents, and there were so many fun photos!
Sunset Photos
Stealing a few quiet moments outside, we made our way into the golden hour light, and took some beautiful shots of the newlyweds outside the Inn and on the beach. It was the perfect end to our coverage with them and I loved working with them.
I wish Julia and Josh all the best, and their Potawatomi Inn wedding was so beautiful to photograph!
