A few weeks ago, I got to spend the afternoon with Chelle, Andy, their fur babies, and their new baby girl, Jolene Vaughn. It was a sunny, and unseasonably warm February day, and just the sweetest time. Chelle is a local photographer, and her artist’s eye was evident all throughout their home and Jolene’s nursery. I loved hearing all the meanings behind decorations, outfits, names, and furniture as we went through our session. One of my favorite things about in-home sessions is that I get to know the clients a bit more personally, since I am in their space. I get to see them in their own environments, doing their thing, and they seem so much more comfortable.
Jolene is the sweetest baby girl, and cooperated so well during the session. She is so loved by her mama and daddy.. The joy on their faces as they held her made my heart swell as I took the photos. And the name! Jolene is such a gorgeous name, isn’t it?! Chelle shared that her grandpa was a huge Dolly Parton fan, and used to sing Jolene to her when she was young. Chelle said she always thought she would have a son, so when she found out she was expecting a baby girl, she knew that they would name her Jolene. (Insert alllll the heart eyes right here!)
So, without any further ado, here are some of my favorite shots from our session. I loved all the warm light and bright colors, the special touches all through their home, meeting their two dogs, who were AMAZING to work with! This family is so special, and their session made my whole day.
