70s Inspired Engagement session in Indianapolis
When Amanda asked me if we could shoot some 70s inspired engagement session photos for part of their session, I jumped at the chance! We met at Holcomb Gardens to start, and even though it was frigid and had snowed, the setting was so perfect for some outdoor shots. When I’m shooting sessions in Indianapolis, Holcomb Gardens is one of my favorite spots. Looking great in any season, it’s a perfect setting for engagement photos in Indianapolis.
Amanda and Zach’s second 70s inspired engagement session look.
We met at my Indianapolis studio space at the Stutz Building. We created a vintage 70s inspired engagement session look using pieces in the studio and some creative finds online and second-hand. Amanda wore a white dress and Zach looked dapper in a tweed suit jacket. We got to be creative and made some really cool images for their second look. I love having couples choose two outfits for engagement sessions to have two very different looks.
Being creative during engagement sessions give you freedom to be yourself.
Engagement sessions are such a great time to play with creativity. Whether that’s trying a look that is a bit daring or choosing a location where an activity is involved or just trying poses that feel fun and non-traditional, for instance. I was so grateful that Amanda suggested a different look and vibe for part of their session because it gave us the chance to get really funky and fun. Isn’t that what it should be about? Stay fun during your session! Try new things and don’t be afraid to just be yourself and wear whatever feels good to you!
These two will be getting married this spring in a lovely non-traditional celebration. It will be full of things they love and surrounded by people they care about. I can’t wait to witness and document their fun and creative wedding!
