It was so much fun meeting Kat and Brice for their Indianapolis engagement session recently! We met first at the Canal Walk in downtown Indianapolis for some fun shots with the city in the background, and the water nearby. Then, we headed to Holliday Park for their second look, and enjoyed the nice spring day for their shoot.
Before they became more than friends, they were in a band together.
After meeting at school and having loads of mutual friends, they both took a year off and it was so fun to hear how they developed from friendship into something more. Kat ended up in a band with Brice and they got to know one another more after graduation. I love hearing how couples meet and it sounded so cool to get to be in a band together!
Kat and Brice wanted an Indianapolis engagement session.
They are planning a fall wedding downtown Indianapolis at the Eiteljorg Museum, and felt that an Indianapolis engagement session fit well. Brice is originally from the greater Indianapolis area, though they now live in Chicago. Since their venue is right along the canal walk in Indianapolis, they decided shooting along the north side of the canal would be a fun nod to their wedding day photos.
We started on the north side of the canal, near Canal 337, so we could get a nice view of the city and the water since we’ll shoot along a different part of the canal for their wedding day in October.
We landed at Holliday Park for their second Indianapolis engagement session location, one of my favorite places to shoot in the city. Trekking down to the river, seeing some blooms peeking out, and hearing more about their relationship, it was a beautiful setting for their casual outfit look.
Brice planned a unique first date for the two of them.
Brice asked Kat if she would be open to a different kind of first date, and he planned a really fun scavenger hunt across Bloomington for their time together. I thought that was such a great idea to get to know someone! Now they live in Chicago, and one of their favorite things to do is taking long walks and wandering the city together. It was so much fun hearing more about them and shooting their engagement session in Indianapolis.
Kat and Brice: you are an amazing and fun couple and I can’t wait to shoot your fall wedding this year! I hope you enjoy these previews from your session, and cheers to you both!
