I met Mady and Alex for their downtown Indianapolis engagement photos recently and what a joy this couple was! They had such comfortable energy together, and looked so fabulous in the outfits they chose. What a fun evening, and I can’t wait to share some photos here!
Mady and Alex are planning a December wedding at Industry
The couple found me through the beautiful venue they have chosen for their wedding, Industry in downtown Indianapolis. A gorgeous venue with such a great space for weddings, I can’t wait for their December wedding celebration! Currently, I feel honored to be on the preferred vendor list at Industry, and am so excited to work with a few couples there coming up!
They met online, but lived on the same street for years before!
Always loving to know how couples meet, I loved hearing that Mady and Alex met online. Honestly, more and more couples are telling me this is how they met, and I think it’s such a wonderful way to find someone you might vibe well with off the bat. The best part is that Mady told me they realized later that for 3 years, they actually lived on the same street and had never met in person! Isn’t that so fun and wild? It’s fate, she said, and I agree!
The location was perfect for their Downtown Indianapolis engagement photos
Mady asked me where some of my favorite places to shoot are, and one of my all time favorite spots in the War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis. With the neutral backdrops, green spaces nearby, and easy access, this location is a gem. While I shoot a lot of engagement sessions that take place at least partially there, what I love is that each one can look unique with all the different backdrops nearby.
For Mady and Alex’ first outfit, Mady wore a black dress, black heels, and gold jewelry, and Alex wore a black dress shirt and slacks. They looked so classy, and we found some spots with florals in bloom, as well as neutral city sidewalk settings. Finishing their first look on the War Memorial terrace, I loved how the sun was coming through for those shots.
Their second look went a bit more casual, and Mady rocked a white peasant blouse and denim jeans, and Alex looked great in a white button up and khakis. This couple was obviously so comfortable with each other, and I loved seeing their dynamic. I played some music, took some bts for Instagram reels, and enjoyed each part of their session. I love how these sessions allow me to get to know my couples and how they like to be photographed.
