It’s not often that I get to take graduation photos, but I loved getting to spend some time with Mika photographing her Master’s graduation photos at IUPUI. The campus is so gorgeous, and I loved celebrating with her and seeing some fun spots that were special to Mika.
We found some fun spots for graduation photos at IUPUI
Mika attended Herron School of Art and Design for her undergrad. Because of that, she was more familiar with the campus of IUPUI than I was. Mika suggested a few spots for us that she loved. We started at a fountain, and then made our way to some IUPUI signs and her department building. Mika wore an ivory satin dress from Baltic Born, and nude heels for a dressy graduation look. Incorporating her cap and gown, we got some lovely shots for her.
Hiring a photographer for graduation photos is so fun!
Of course I will encourage people to hire photographers for milestones, but Mika also mentioned that in her own social media post about her session. After such an achievement of attaining her Master’s degree, a photo session to honor her hard work and help document this amazing milestone was so much fun! I love encouraging clients to think about photos for different parts of their life, not just fall family shots or weddings and engagements!
We shot champagne popping photos on a parking garage rooftop
To finish the first look, we made our way to a parking garage rooftop with a gorgeous view of the Indianapolis skyline. Mika popped some champagne for some celebratory shots, and I loved how they turned out so much! Indy has such a pretty skyline, and it was fun to shoot on the rooftop.
Mika changed into her second outfit and pulled out her own camera since she is also a photographer, and we took some really fun shots of her up there. We ended her session with some green trees and neutral backdrops, and I loved so much how her graduation photos at IUPUI turned out.
Mika, congratulations on such an important achievement for yourself! I hope you continue to celebrate! You are amazing and I hope you love your photos!
