This in-home family photo session in Indianapolis was so unique and fun! Lindsey has been a friend for a few years, and she asked me to photograph her and her family in the dream home she and her husband purchased. Lindsey has such an eye for design and I knew this session would be so lovely.
I asked if we could get creative for their in-home family session
Since I know Lindsey, I knew she might be down to get a bit more creative for her in-home family session. They live in a house with some mid-century vibes, an inground pool in the backyard, and gorgeous natural light living spaces. I’m working to branch my lifestyle work into a more candid and story-telling style, and asked Lindsey if we could play around with some different poses. Of course she was down, so while we captured some shots she was hoping for, we also branched out for some sets during the session.
Lindsey’s living spaces made some lovely backdrops
Starting in the living room, we captured some informal and posed shots of Lindsey with her family. She has grown children, and pups, so it was fun to mix and match shots of the whole family and the kids and fur babes. I loved the fireplace and the pink velvet sofa! Throwing in some Wes Anderson vibes for a few shots with her kids, we got some static and candid poses.
The mid-century room with a record player was so much fun
After some dining room shots and kitchen baking fun, we moved in the living space in the back of the home with gorgeous built-ins that felt so mid-century vintage. I pulled out my flash to get some party-like shots, and I absolutely loved how they turned out!
The backyard pool was amazing to photograph for this in-home family session
Finishing the session with a vintage pool-party set was my favorite! I loved how vibrant the colors were, and how fun to get to photograph a family session pool party! Lindsey drew inspiration from 60s and 70s pool socials, and we even got a shot of her son doing a cannonball!
This in-home family session in Indianapolis was simply amazing and I loved getting to be so creative with Lindsey and her family!
