Brittany and Cole had the most perfect evening for some engagement photos at the War Memorial and Holliday park in Indianapolis recently. These two were so much fun to work with, and even though we had a warm spring Indiana evening, this session was perfect.
Brittany’s dad encouraged Cole to get to know her
These two met through church, and Cole was close with Brittany’s dad through his church work. Brittany’s dad encouraged Cole to get to know Brittany, and after dating, they are now engaged and planning a wedding! Wow! I loved hearing how they got to know one another. And I loved that Brittany’s dad gave some nudges along the way.
I met my own husband through youth group when we were teenagers. So it was really fun talking with Brittany and Cole about some similarities in our stories.
They were a little nervous to get photos taken
So many of my couples tell me that they are actually nervous to get photos taken! And I get it. I don’t always love jumping in front of the camera myself. Honestly, I love being behind the lens more than in front of it. However, I worked to make sure Brittany and Cole felt comfortable. By the end of the session, they did feel more like themselves and less awkward in front of the camera. I didn’t ever feel like they were awkward, and loved seeing their sweet personalities together for photos.
We started our session at the Indiana War Memorial in Indianapolis
If you can’t tell by some of my other blog posts, I absolutely love shooting some of my sessions at the Indiana War Memorial. It’s such a great spot, and feels so elegant with the limestone buildings and gold touches. We began our session there and I loved the floral dress Brittany wore to the session. Cole looked so sharp in the blue jacket he wore. Downtown Indianapolis is such a beautiful spot for engagement photos. The light was so amazing the night of our session!
Brittany’s red hair looked so gorgeous in the light, and Cole’s smile was contagious as I got to photograph this couple together. I loved every minute.
Holliday Park made for a perfect final location for these engagement photos
Another favorite location of mine is Holliday Park, and we found some lovely spots for their more casual outfit look. Rocking some black and white and denim, Brittany and Cole looked perfect in the natural setting of evergreen trees and field vibes of Holliday Park. We also shot near the ruins at Holliday Park for some fun textures.
I loved every minute of their engagement photos at the War Memorial and Holliday Park in Indianapolis. I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!
Brittany and Cole: you two are so amazing and I loved working with you! Thanks for choosing me as your wedding photographer, and I’m SO pumped for your wedding day coming up soon!
