Katelyn and Eric had the most gorgeous summer evening for some engagement photos in Evansville Indiana. I was so excited to meet Katelyn and Eric in person after speaking with Katelyn on the phone. She had such an incredible vision for their engagement photos, and I was happy to help them bring that vision to life.
We met at State Hospital Park for some photos to begin
A gorgeous park located on the east side of Evansville, State Hospital Park, made a beautiful setting for the first part of our session. Katelyn and Eric’s dog, Irish, made an appearance, and we found a lovely tree-filled area. Since it was so warm out, they brought some cold beers to sip on during the session, something I highly recommend for photos!
Finding a waterfront and going a bit editorial
I don’t always feel comfortable trying some new posing ideas with couples, but with Katelyn and Eric, I felt so at ease with them. I knew Katelyn had a very artistic eye, and that she would probably be up for trying some less traditional poses. We got a bit creative, and I shot a bit more editorial than I typically do. And you know what? I absolutely loved how the whole session felt because of it. Feeling creative freedom while collaborating with a couple who is open to that creativity is simply amazing!
Katelyn and Eric were co-workers and friends before they became more
I obviously love hearing about my couples, and it was so fun to find out that these two used to work together, and were friends before they became more. It always seems like couples who were friends first have such a beautiful connection, and I loved their comfortable chemistry. Katelyn and Eric simply adored each other, and they naturally moved and flowed together for photos and made it so breezy to work with them.
We headed downtown Evansville for their second look
Donning a gorgeous mini dress with puff sleeves, Katelyn stunned in her second outfit. Eric wore a fantastic blue suit, looking so sharp for photos. Katelyn had scouted a lovely veteran’s memorial building downtown Evansville for their look. The giant pillars created a whole vibe of those courthouse weddings that are so classy and free. They ran down the steps, Eric dipped Katelyn for some kisses, and they ran across the street for some free-feeling photos.
We ended their session on a parking garage rooftop with a view of the courthouse in the background as the sun set. They popped champagne, got more editorial with me for some poses, and Katelyn wore her custom denim Mrs. jacket for a few shots. Oh my heart, but these engagement photos in Evansville Indiana with these two were SO much fun!
