I recently met Gwen and Drew for their Valparaiso engagement session. It was such a lovely session, and I’m so excited to work with these two! We were nervous it was going to get rained out, but luckily the clouds held off. We even got to see the sun peek out!
Gwen recently moved to Valparaiso where Drew lives and works
Gwen is originally from the Indianapolis area, and that’s where the couple will be getting married. We were planning to shoot their engagement session in Indy, but then Gwen got a job in Valparaiso and moved up there. Since I live in the northern Indiana region now, it was perfect to move their session to Valparaiso. Gwen had just recently moved in, and they share a lovely downtown Valparaiso apartment together.
They met at Valparaiso University
Gwen and Drew met at Valparaiso University, so it was fun to photograph their engagement session in the town and then campus where they first connected. I love incorporating meaningful locations for engagement sessions!
We started our session near the courthouse downtown Valparaiso
Downtown Valparaiso was so charming and full of beautiful locations for photos. We began at the lovely courthouse, then moved around to a few spots for their first outfit. Gwen wore a gorgeous floral dress, and Drew wore blue slacks and a white button up. Gwen brought a custom beach hat with her future Mrs. title on it for some fun shots! Downtown was hopping, and I couldn’t believe how alive it felt. It was so fun photographing around the beautiful streets and building backdrops.
We finished our session at Valparaiso University
As the sun began to set, we made our way to Valparaiso University and walked to the chapel area for some final photos. Gwen had changed into a fun black mini dress, and Drew looked sharp in black pants and white button up. We talked about their upcoming vacation and the work they both do, and chatted over their wedding plans. I loved the backdrops we found on campus, and it was so much fun to photograph them at their former school.
