I’ve been loving engagement sessions on the beach, and this session was no different. The light is so beautiful, and the backdrop of Lake Michigan is gorgeous. Madi and DJ met me on a beautiful evening in September for their Weko Beach engagement session. I loved everything about meeting them and working with them!
Madi and DJ shared dates at the beach
Living only a few minutes away, Weko Beach has held some special meaning for Madi and DJ. They are both lovers of nature, the beach, and they have shared some special dates here. It made sense to take their engagement photos at Weko Beach, which is one of my favorite locations for sessions in Southwest Michigan.
Wooded Backdrops for the first half of their Weko Beach Engagement Session
For the first half of their Weko Beach engagement session, we prioritized some wooded backdrops. Madi and DJ wanted a mix of beach and woods, so we started the session on the wooden stairs adjacent to the beach setting.
With gorgeous winding wooden walkways along the dunes, the wooded areas make for some really beautiful settings. I threw some music on, and we got started with photos as we walked to a few spots.

Madi and DJ changed into a second look, and we walked around the beach to get more photos. With some beautiful sunset images, I loved getting a mix of fun, candid, and romantic images for these two.
Madi and DJ were so much fun to work with for their engagement Session, and I am so excited for their wedding!
